(SportsData) — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy have both been ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers with concussions. Nick Foles will make his second career start at quarterback, while fellow rookie Bryce Brown gets his first-ever start at running back when the Eagles host the Panthers.
Vick has progressed to Phase 3 (of five) of the NFL’s concussion protocol and could be ready to play in time for their Dec. 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He initially suffered the concussion against the Cowboys on Nov. 11. McCoy did not practice again on Saturday and is still experiencing concussion symptoms from a hit he took late in last Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.
Foles has completed 43 of 78 passes for 423 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions over two games since taking over for the injured Vick Nov. 11. Brown has seen limited work over five games so far this season, rushing 32 times for 141 yards and no touchdowns.
